A Fresh Start

A new year is coming, a new day to begin gathering your 3-month food supply as directed by the church.  Bishop A. has suggested that we begin even with getting a 1-month supply of food and then, as we are able, we can expand that plan to 2-3 months or more.

What kind of food should you buy for a 1 month supply?  Whatever you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Beginning in January, I will be posting suggestions for building a meal plan and menu system using food storage foods (NOT read "wheat, rice and flour")  I would especially encourage you to attend the Relief Society Enrichment meeting  planned for January 21.  There just might be some good information to give you a jump start in creating a family food supply without breaking the budget (hint, hint.)

It will take a little thought, some time and organization too.  We are pulling together resources from the ward and the Internet to help figure it all out and get prepared for the unexpected.
